Oh to be Beautiful

My membership to the website www.beautifulpeople.com was recently rejected and I am truly devastated. I mean how much rejection can one take in a two month time span? That was actually a joke. I caught an Anderson 360 segment last night about this utterly ridiculous web site and its more than ridiculous owner/founder. I just had to check it out for myself. The home page states, and I quote, “meet REAL beautiful people who actually look in real life as they do online.” And exactly how does this web site determine that? Sounds like a pretty bold statement. REAL beautiful people? What like the ones on the home page photo? I really like the girl reclining with the lion. She definitely looks like a REAL beautiful person. Of course I guess any skinny blond draped in a towel laying next to a savage animal would look somewhat appealing to someone. To be honest I felt a little queasy listening to Anderson Cooper’s take on this utterly absurd site. Its founder was interviewed and to tell you the truth, I wonder if he himself could be approved were he not the owner of the whole thing. He definitely had a hard time explaining the concept in coherent English (so much for intellectuall beauty). Rather than beautifulpeople.com maybe a more descriptive title would be vacuouspeople.com because that is what I have found that people who are totally absorbed with their “beauty” really are. And who would actually subscribe to such a site who isn’t?

Okay maybe I am just jealous that I could never hope to be admitted. No, actually I thank god that I am a person who would never want to be admitted. I prefer to spend my time with people who are truly beautiful and those people I don’t believe would be found in the chat room of this web site. Actually I have spent the last several years with some people who might like to be there, which truly signals to me, time to move the heck on! I prefer REAL people who are less concerned with their appearance than they are about appearing, that is, showing up and making a difference. To me a truly beautiful person has no idea that they are. The thought never really occurred to them because they are too busy reaching out to ever look that deep into the mirror. A mirror to them is not a reflection of who they are, but just a tool to get dressed in the morning, or brush their teeth. The wicked queen in Snow White would ask the mirror each morning, “mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all.” The answer, however, was a surprising one. It was the lowly peasant girl who spent less time preening and more time dreaming and hanging out with a gang of dwarfs (not great beautifulpeople.com material, do you think?). So I think I will pass on having an airbrushed photo to remove the countless imperfections that could lead to my acceptance into beautifulpeople.com. In reality a quest for real beauty does involve being REAL, but that requires a level of beauty that is much more than skin deep.

Que en realidad era una broma. Cogí un segmento de 360 Anderson anoche acerca de este sitio web completamente ridículo y su más que ridículo propietario / fundador. Sólo tenía que comprobarlo por mí mismo. Ella definitivamente se ve como un verdadero persona hermosa. Por supuesto, supongo que cualquier rubio delgado envuelto en una toalla que se junto a un animal salvaje sería algo atractivo para alguien. Para ser honesto, me sentí un poco mareado escuchar a Anderson Cooper de tomar en este sitio completamente absurdo. Su fundador fue entrevistado y que te diga la verdad, me pregunto si él mismo podría ser aprobado si no se le el dueño de la cosa entera. Definitivamente tenía dificultades para explicar el concepto de coherencia Inglés (tanto por la belleza intellectuall). En lugar de beautifulpeople.com tal vez un título más descriptivo sería vacuouspeople.com porque eso es lo que he encontrado que las personas que son totalmente absorbido por su “belleza” son en realidad. Y que en realidad suscribirse a un sitio que no era?

Está bien, quizá sólo estoy celosa de que yo nunca podría ser admitido. No, la verdad es que gracias a dios que soy una persona que nunca querría ser admitido. Yo prefiero gastar mi tiempo con personas que son realmente hermosas y las personas que no creen que se encuentran en la sala de chat de este sitio web. En realidad, he pasado los últimos años con algunas personas que podrían estar allí, que realmente las señales para mí, el momento de sequir adelante ya! Yo realmente prefiero la gente que verdaderamente se preocupan menos por su apariencia de lo que son de parecer, mostrando y haciendo una diferencia. Para mí, una persona verdaderamente hermosa no tiene idea de que lo son. El nunca pensó que realmente ocurrió con ellos porque están demasiado ocupados llegar a ver alguna vez que en el fondo en el espejo. Un espejo para ellos no es un reflejo de lo que son, pero sólo una herramienta para vestirse por la mañana, o cepillarse los dientes. La malvada reina de Blancanieves le preguntaba al espejo cada mañana, “Espejo del espejo en la pared, que es la más bella de todas ellas». La respuesta, sin embargo, fue sorprendente. Era la muchacha humilde campesino que pasaban menos tiempo y más tiempo acicalándose soñar y salir con una banda de enanos. Así que creo que pasará de tener una foto retocada para eliminar las imperfecciones innumerables que podrían llevar a mi aceptación en beautifulpeople.com. En realidad, una búsqueda de la belleza real implica ser real, pero que requiere un nivel de belleza que es mucho más allá de la piel.
